City of Hereford Level 2 Open Report

What a fantastic weekend! City of Hereford Swimming Club took part in 208 events, 196 resulted in PB's. 91% of the races fell inside county qualification time. 19 Regional qualification times, 2 National qualification times and 1 meet record was also recorded. It was a joy to watch and a pleasure for all on poolside to be involved with this young motivated group of swimmers. Each year City of Hereford invite the same staff and officials to run this meet, the lead referee commented ''I have not seen so many happy faces at City of Hereford SC in a long time, congratulations to you all.''

National Speedo League Round Two

Result; City of Hereford 259, Cheltenham 216, Tewkesbury 179, Orion 135, Dunstable 130, Abingdon 127

Congratulations guys, a fantastic team effort! City of Hereford Swimming Club now sit comfortably at the top of division 3. We are the only team to win two rounds from two in our league. 40 events from 50 produced quicker times than round one with the most obvious improvement coming from our team relays.

A Fantastic Night for all involved with Swimming in Herefordshire.

LEVEL 2 OPEN MEET RESULTS

LEVEL 3 OPEN MEET RESULTS

We are a club with over 100 years of history previously affiliating to Gloucester County and Western District. Following Regionalisation on 1st October 2005, we now affiliate and compete within the ASA Worcester County Championships and the ASA Midland Championships.

We welcome all levels of swimmer starting with our two Fish (Feeder & Identification of Swimmers in Herefordshire) Squads at teaching level. Progressing through a further two Junior Squads to our Future, Comp 2- Age Group and Comp 1- Performance Squads. Alongside our Juniors, Age Group and Performance Swimmers we have a thriving Masters and Senior Club Squad Section. We also compete in local competitions, which offers a lower level of meet for those swimmers just starting out, this then leads into the Speedo League for those more experienced competitors and senior swimmers.

Competition is encouraged for all, and we hold three competitive meets for swimmers to compete at their appropriate level, here at our home pool in Hereford. The Hereford Sprint Meet, a Level 3 Licensed event in July with 50m and 100m races, and new for 2007, our Winter Level 3 Licensed Meet in December with 100m and 200m races. We also hold the well established Two Day Level 2 Licensed Meet in November, offering opportunities for qualifying times for further competitions. This meet is well supported from around the country and offers races from 50m Freestyle to 400m Individual Medley.
