SPECIAL NOTICES FOR FINALS DAY

Saturday, 11 September, 2010 at Wolverhampton Central Baths

PLEASE NOTE CAREFULLY

All teams are allocated a limited number of tickets.  The tickets are perforated, one half will be used as a raffle ticket.  Please do not tear the tickets in two before entering the building. Tickets are £3.00 each including the programme and raffle.  Unfortunately it is not possible for children to sit on laps, they need a ticket.

Clubs will only have on poolside swimmers in the gala and four Club Officials, ie Coaches and Chaperones.  We are sorry but senior swimmers are not allowed on poolside unless they are one of the four officials.

Running up and down the poolside and shouting swimmers on in relays is NOT allowed.

Please cheer your own swimmers and also encourage others.  No booing at other teams, it is bad for all sport and please no air horns or klaxons, it distracts the swimmers.

Lanes are as follows:

                                         Team A                                         Lane 4

PARADE OF TEAMS:  As soon as the pool has been cleared teams should report to the changing rooms ready for the march on to the poolside with their Team Managers and Coaches (Bermuda shorts & club T-Shirts please).  Each team will form 3 rows to allow room for all the teams to face the balcony for the National Anthem.  The march on will be in the following order, Team C, Team B, Team A, Team D, Team E, Team F.  March on for each team will not exceed 2 minutes.  At the end of the National Anthem the winners of the Best Turned Out Team Trophy will  be announced and the Trophy presented.  This should not be regarded as a theatrical event, teams should be turned out smartly and present themselves as teams.  There will be many visiting dignitaries on the day so please help us to make the march on run smoothly by organising your Club as requested by the Marshals.

ELECTRONIC TIMING will be used.  Swimmers’ cards will be sent in the next week or two.

BLOCKS: All swimmers starting from the shallow end must use either a shallow racing dive off the side or start in the water.  Swimmers may therefore put a towel down at that end to avoid slipping.

PHOTOGRAPHS:  As with the previous rounds neither still nor video photography will be allowed during the gala.  The League's official photographer will take a team photographs at the end of each gala and these will be available at £1.50 each.  Photographs will not be put on the web by the League.  There is an order form on the Notice Board, please sign and pay at the club desk prior to the Gala.  All the photographs will be sent to one person at the Club for distribution to parents.

RESULTS:  Due to the time factor, only placings will be given over the public address system.  Each team will be given a result sheet at the end of the gala.

SWIM SHOP: SRS Leisure (Swimrite) has a swim shop at the event.

VIP's:  The League, as in the past, will send invites to all the Civic Heads and other dignitaries of each town competing.  County Presidents are also invited.

CAR PARKING:  There is limited parking at the Wolverhampton Pool (map reference on www.streetmap.co.uk - WV1 4EG).  However, there is ample parking a short distance away round the edge of West Park where a parking bay is marked out.  Coaches bringing teams will be given priority at the pool, but please allow plenty of time to get to the gala.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
